Born in El Salvador, Central America but lived in Mexico City where I attended a bilingual elementary school. Moved to Miami, Florida, graduated high school and community college. While working for Nova University in Davie, Fl. I went on vacation to visit friends from college in Los Angeles, where I ended up staying for approximately 6 years- Attended UCLA while working at their Financial Aid Office and proudly graduated from UCLA in 1980 – A bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology.
Moved back to Florida where I worked as a Therapeutic Recreational Specialist for approximately 13 years. While working full time obtained a Masters Degree in Therapeutic Recreation (Department of Education) from Florida International University. My goal was to transfer my therapeutic recreation skills and transition into Special Education or counseling. Family circumstances brought me to Pinellas County where, after working as a substitute for Pinellas County, I landed the best job I’ve ever held – Bilingual Assistant at Enterprise Charter High School – and the rest is HISTORY.
